Elementary Basketball Clinic

The City High boys' basketball team held an elementary age basketball clinic on two Saturdays in February.  The players and coaches ran drills and stations for the young players.

Team Attends Iowa Game, Team Dinner

Sunday afternoon the players and coaches attended the Iowa vs Minnesota basketball game at Carver Arena.  What a great game.  Way to go, Iowa Hawkeyes!  Then back to City High for practice.  After practice the team was invited to the Forresters' home for a team dinner.

City Wins at Xavier!

The regular season ended with a great WIN at Xavier.  City 55 - Xavier 50

Senior Night

Ten seniors were honored before the game Tuesday night.  These seniors are a special group of young men.  They have established the work ethic and desire that future Little Hawk teams will learn from.  They are part of a new culture for City High Basketball.  They will all do very well in whatever the future holds for them.

City High Presents Coach's Award

City High had the privilege of presenting Coach Showalter his award from USA Basketball before the City-West game.  For the fourth year in a row Coach Showalter has received the USA Developmental Coach of the Year award.  It comes from his years of coaching the U16 and U17 USA National Teams during the summer.  He and his teams have four gold medals in four years.  This coming summer Coach Showalter will coach the U16 USA team in the Tournament of the Americas in Uruguary, South America to get qualified for the World Tournament in 2014.  Go Team USA!

Pizza Party

On Super Bowl Sunday a pizza party was held at the high school for the IC City boys and girls' teams.
"Go City Beat West" was the them!

Team Bowling Party

After the ice/snow storm canceled the first scheduled bowling party, the IC City Boys Basketball Team managed to get in the bowling party on Sunday afternoon.
